Finding Clarity in the Chaos: An Olympic Classes Regatta Recap

Eleven races. One of the most competitive fleets I’ve ever faced. And a weekend I won’t forget.

This wasn’t just another regatta—it was a masterclass in high-performance sailing. I lined up against some of the best: national champions, world champions, Olympians, and full-time professionals already deep in their campaigns for the 2028 Games. Every start was a battle. Every mistake had consequences. And every race demanded everything I had.

If you're looking at the scoreboard, my finishes won’t raise eyebrows—38, 43, 42, 36, 43, 41, 43, 40, 43, 38, 39—but numbers don’t always tell the whole story. Because what I gained this weekend wasn’t a trophy. It was clarity.

I came in knowing I could think my way around the course. Tactics? On point. Decision-making? Solid. But this regatta showed me exactly where I need to focus next: boat handling. At this level, the tiniest hesitation—one slow tack, one fumbled maneuver—can cost you five boats. And those seconds add up fast.

The conditions didn’t do us any favors. Light wind, choppy water, long days on the water. It was mentally and physically draining. But I held steady. I kept showing up. And with every race, I improved. That steady progression is what I’m most proud of.

There’s a long road ahead, but this weekend lit a fire in me. I’m more focused, more motivated, and more certain than ever that I belong in this arena. This is exactly where I’m meant to be.

Thank you to everyone who’s been cheering me on—and especially to those who are helping make this journey possible. Your belief in me is the wind in my sails.
