⛵The biggest lesson from North Americans

Hi friends,

It's been a little over a month since my last update, and it's been a busy one.

Since my last email, we've raced Kiel Week in Germany, squeezed in a few training days with my coach Christian and our Summit Sailing crew from Park City, and just wrapped up the ILCA North American Championship at the future LA28 Olympic sailing venue in San Pedro.

And one thought has been stuck in my head ever since.

🎥 A quick story...

I recorded a short reel after racing wrapped up because I couldn't stop thinking about what I witnessed over the weekend.

One sailor showed up Thursday morning to find her boat had been stolen overnight.

Later that same weekend, I found myself in the protest room after another sailor chose not to take a penalty following a collision.

Those two moments couldn't have been more different.

But together, they reminded me of something bigger than sailing.

💭 One takeaway

Very few people will remember where any of us finished this regatta. But they'll remember what it felt like to race against us.

Results become lines in a score sheet. Our reputation becomes part of our legacy. That may have been the biggest lesson I brought home from North Americans.
